Still / Objects: Self-initiated visual study
Self-initiated visual design study. The presentation image is a concept visual, not a live client website. View the full design ↗

01 / THE STORY

Objects with presence.
A website with room to breathe.

The brief for Still / Objects centres on ceramics for everyday spaces: vessels, bowls and pieces chosen as much for their shape as their use. The brand story starts with material and the small rituals around the objects we live with.

The design carries that idea into the browsing experience. Rather than filling the screen with products, the direction gives each object space, letting silhouette, surface and light establish the first impression.

02 / THE DESIGN QUESTION

How do you make
a screen feel tactile?

Ceramics invite a closer look. The texture of the glaze, the edge of a bowl and the weight suggested by a vessel all matter. The design question was how to convey those qualities through a flat screen.

The answer pairs large product imagery with close-up details. A visitor first sees the whole form, then the material. Short catalogue labels supply context without interrupting the photography.

03 / THE VISUAL DIRECTION

Warm stone.
Dark type. A slower rhythm.

A chalk and limestone palette keeps the backdrop close to the objects themselves. Deep aubergine typography supplies contrast, while a restrained terracotta accent brings a warmer edge to the composition.

Oversized serif type introduces the brand, with smaller editorial labels for collection names and object details. Thin rules organise the page without enclosing every item in a card.

04 / THE WEBSITE STRUCTURE

From the first impression
to the collection.

The page is organised around Collection, Process, About and Enquire. Those four routes give the brand room to show what it makes, how it approaches the work and how someone can get in touch.

Product groupings such as vessels and bowls create a straightforward way into the catalogue. Detail imagery and short material descriptions then support a closer look at individual pieces.

05 / THE DETAILS

Let the objects
do the talking.

The opening composition uses a vase and bowl at different scales to create depth. The next row moves into glaze and clay details, continuing the story rather than introducing a separate visual language.

The same system can carry into collection pages and individual object layouts: photography first, deliberate spacing, short descriptions and a clear inquiry action.

A different business.
